Isabel 6 is always on the move… and is now picking up itsme® too

Isabel Group is constantly on the move. We keep a close eye on the major trends in the market so that we can always update our solutions to the latest market standards. Like itsme. Isabel 6 users can now use itsme to log into Isabel 6 and sign payments.

Since founded in 1995, Isabel Group has grown into one of the largest Belgian fintech players, and now  it has the industry standard for B2B multi-banking software: Isabel 6. More than 50,000 businesses rely on the platform and together carry out more than 1.2 million transactions per day, spread across 27 banks.

Itsme, the standard for secure online identification

In order to offer our customers the best possible service at all times, we monitor various trends and developments in the market and in society. One of the trends that has registered enormous growth in recent years is digital identification via the itsme app.

Many banks offer itsme as an additional option to log in to their mobile banking app and to carry out transactions in it. The Covidsafe app, too, has encouraged many Belgians to use itsme since 2021.

As a result, with more than 6.5 million Belgian users – four out of five Belgian adults have an account – itsme has emerged as the market standard for digital identification. Every month, 25 to 34 million actions are performed in the application.

Isabel 6: anytime, anywhere with itsme

Isabel 6 will now also offer itsme as an additional option for logging in and signing transactions. Are you at home or travelling (on business) and do you urgently need to sign a transaction, but you don’t have your Isabel 6 card at hand? Thanks to itsme you can log in anytime, anywhere, check balances and sign transactions up to €500,000.

Security above all

What is more, you can proceed in complete security. The itsme app has various built-in security measures and uses multi-factor authentication (MFA). For example, the app only works if you use your own smartphone, your personal SIM card and your personal itsme code or fingerprint. What’s more, all the data is encrypted. You can see in the itsme app what data you are sharing, what you are doing and with which partner.

With itsme, Isabel Group not only offers an additional secure option for logging in and signing transactions in Isabel 6, but we also see it as a crucial step towards a more mobile use of our multi-banking platform.

Isabel 6 anytime, anywhere with itsme

With itsme, Isabel Group not only offers an additional secure option for logging in and signing transactions in Isabel 6, but we also see it as a crucial step towards a more mobile use of our multi-banking platform.

We live increasingly in a mobile first society, where we use our smartphone for more and more applications. This should not come as a surprise since more than 90% of Belgians have a smartphone and spend an average of 4 hours using it.

Moreover, it appears that Belgians have started to pay in a totally different way since the coronavirus crisis. The annual figures of the Bancontact Payconiq Company show that in 2021 no fewer than 204 million transactions were carried out with the Payconiq app, up 62% compared with 2020.

In addition, online purchases are increasingly made using the smartphone. Figures from Gondola show that about half of all Belgians do their shopping by mobile phone. These purchases are also increasingly paid for via smartphone apps.

We at the Isabel Group will also be responding to these market standards. So you can expect updates from us in the coming months that will make our multi-banking platform even more mobile. In short, Isabel 6 keeps on moving.
